Y-3 + Boa Concept Runner

Various Work - 2017

Y-3 is a collaboration label between Adidas and Yohji Yamamoto. The collaboration aims to bring Yamamoto’s striking silhouettes to the Adidas brand by fusing high fashion with advanced sportswear.

Boa Technology is an alternative closure system to lacing. It is often seen in demanding sports conditions such as cycling, and snowboarding.

This conceptual sneaker aims to integrate the Boa closure system as both an aesthetic and technical element. The dial is placed on a reinforced heel counter, while the cable routing system runs along the vamp to the heel.

The cables secure an outer panel and outline the iconic "3 stripes" when tightened.
